We spent more than a decade making knitwear in Peru before we made any of our own. These are the first of a series — one shape at a time, knit by hand, in merino we rescued from the industry's leftovers.

the workwear
The adjustable one. A deep cuff lets you choose a taller crown or a closer fit.
A folded cuff is two layers of rib where the rest of the hat is one. That's why the brim holds its shape while the crown stays soft enough to slouch.

the watch cap
The close one. A compact, short shape with a flexible rib that stays put.
Wool holds warmth and moves moisture at the same time. It's why a merino cap keeps you warm without leaving you damp.

the marl
Two yarns, one marled effect. A compact rib with subtle tonal depth.
A marl is two differently colored yarns spun into a single strand. It's why marled color never sits flat — you're seeing both at once.

All three stretch well past that. The watch cap has the least give of the three, so it sets the range.

Height worn is how tall the hat sits with the cuff folded as designed. The marl has no cuff, so its worn height is its full height. Band is the full circumference of the opening.
living with them
wool asks for very little.
Merino regulates temperature and resists odor, so most of the time fresh air is all it needs. Air it out between wears and it will stay fresh far longer than you expect.
When it does need cleaning: spot clean with cold water. Dry flat, away from heat. Store it folded, not stretched over a hook.
how they're made
by hand, by people we've worked with for years.
Every hat in this series is hand-knit in Lima, Peru, by the same specialists who make the rest of our collection — people who have spent their careers on knitwear and can tell you why a stitch behaves the way it does.
The yarn is 100% deadstock merino wool: real merino, left over from someone else's production run, that would otherwise have sat in a warehouse. It's the same quality we'd have bought new. We just found it first.
