“The next generation will look at all this waste and say, let’s create something new out of it. That’s going to be the next exciting thing.”
- Stella McCartney
Designing into existing yarn is like a colorful version of tetris. We have no control over how much is available in each color, so the process has to be creative and fluid. When colors run out, we simply have to swap or figure out a new colorway. This is the reality (and beauty) of deadstock design.
And this is why color is a living, breathing part of each sweater we create and why each one will be perfectly imperfect.
We believe people are ready to embrace inconsistency because this means you’ll have something original and personal. As if it were made just for you, because it kind of was ❤️
So we will launch series and drops as you buy, not necessarily following conventional seasons.
For us, deadstock design means there might be some slight differences, like in color tone (since not all yarn was dyed together) or yarn weight. Also we have limited stock, so if a color runs out, we’ll try to sub it with something similar, or just reinvent it with something totally new and amazing. Because what better opportunity to be creative?
We’re taking a bet that you’ll be OK with all of this, but we’d also love to hear your thoughts. Drop us a line.
